The community of Poundbury has an orchard where volunteers work to maintain the apple trees, geese and surroundings. It is located next to the community allotments behind Parkway Farm.
A local group Transition Town Dorchester manages the Poundbury Community Orchard which includes 60 heritage apple and pear trees, planted in honour of HRH The Prince of Wales. A new wildlife pond is now fenced off and starting to establish itself. The group also helps maintain bees, hens and geese and ducks.
