Royal Visits

His Majesty King Charles, as The Prince of Wales visited Poundbury regularly to see the progress and meet community members and new businesses.  The Duchy of Cornwall also invites planners, builders and officials from throughout the United Kingdom and internationally, to inspect the development and hear of the core principles applied.

In 2016 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II paid a special visit to Poundbury to unveil the Queen Mother Statue in Queen Mother Square. This visit was also attended by the HRH Duke of Edinburgh, HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.

In 2023, Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla visited Poundbury to mark the completion of Queen Mother Square and open the Duke of Edinburgh Garden.
