Poundbury Recognised with Prestigious Industry Awards and Achievements
Poundbury has recently been involved with distinguished awards and achievements, recognising the continued commitment to excellence in design, construction and place-making across the development.
Poundbury architect, Ben Pentreath and ADAM Architecture, have been named the recipients of the Georgian Group’s Diaphoros Prize, acknowledging their outstanding contribution to classical and traditional architecture in Phase III. One of the innovations in the later phases of the Poundbury masterplan is the inclusion of traditional Garden Squares, such as Coade Square.
Meanwhile, Poundbury developer, Morrish Homes has received the Local Authority Building Control, Building Excellence Award in the category for Best High Volume New Housing Development in the South West, for Crown Hall and Market Hall. The award recognises excellence in design, technical innovation, and construction quality. As regional winners, the sector will now be considered at the national awards in January 2026.
Adding to the success, C G Fry & Son Site Manager, Steve Walker, has been awarded the National House Building Council’s Pride in the Job Award for the South West region, a highly regarded industry accolade recognising exceptional site management, quality craftsmanship, and leadership in construction. This achievement highlights Steve’s dedication to maintaining the highest professional standards on site.
At Places for People, Senior Site Manager, Terry Hay and his team have achieved an outstanding result in their recent Considerate Constructors Scheme visit. Assessed across three key categories — Community, Environment, and Workforce — the Poundbury team went above and beyond, setting a brilliant example of what best practice looks like on site.
