Duchy of Cornwall

This year saw the Poundbury Christmas market move to a new location at Crown Square enabling expansion to around 80 stall holders. This market always falls on Small Business Saturday, the first Saturday in December, and is a non-profit event. The main aim is to support small businesses across the southwest.

It was a joy to see so much support from the community for this event, the streets were packed with residents and visitors looking for unique gifts and tasty treats whilst enjoying the festive atmosphere.

Charlotte Fancy, who organizes the event and owns Boos Toy Shop in Crown Square, reported:

The Christmas market was absolutely wonderful, 12 months was spent planning the day and every single minute paid off. I am truly grateful for all the support from the Duchy. The 80 stall holders we had generated over £130,000 and on small business Saturday this was tremendous.

The market holds a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to start planning 2023 market which will be held on Saturday 2nd December 2023.

We look forward to seeing what is in store for next year and if you require any further information about the market, you can visit their website.
