New defibrillator at the Buttermarket

The Poundbury Community Trust (PCT), working with the South West Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT), have now installed a total of three externally mounted defibrillators in Poundbury. The newest addition is located in a prominent position in the Buttermarket.

  • Dorchester Physiotherapy, 23 Buttermarket.
  • Pavilion in the Park (PiPs) in the Great Field.
  • The Poet Laureate Pub in Pummery Square.

A fourth defibrillator is planned for Crown Square later in the year.

Defibrillators are easy to use and are accessible to the public in case of an emergency. The ambulance service will be able to confirm their location when calling 999. Defibrillators complement cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by significantly increasing the life chances of patients.

These defibrillators are in addition to others already in place (e.g. to the rear of The Duchess of Cornwall Inn at Queen Mother Square, and outside the Dorchester Community Church in Liscombe Street) and inside locations, such as The Brownsword Hall, Pummery Square and 1610 sports centre.
