Art in Poundbury Winter Exhibition 2024

Art in Poundbury brightened up the Jubilee Hall and a rainy December with their 2024 winter exhibition ‘A hive of creativity’, featuring 140 local artists. Mr Micheal Dooley Lord Lieutenant of Dorset, opened the event – a fabulous and well attended evening.

Over 2,400 visitors were welcomed during the nine busy days, celebrating art and community, and offering a variety of unique ideas for Christmas shopping. A focal point of the exhibition was the large-scale hanging installation of honeycombs. Each colourfully decorated hexagon was produced in partnership with a local community group or organisation, including schools, nursing homes and adult daycare providers.

Local artists were present each day, for demonstrations and talks about their work. Visitors also had the opportunity to attend creative workshops.

The Art in Poundbury Winter Appeal raised over £2,200 to support the DCH Emergency and Critical Care Appeal and the Arts In Hospital initiative. To find out more about Art in Poundbury you can visit their website here
