HRH The Prince of Wales opens flagship luxury day spa at Poundbury
HRH The Prince of Wales officially opened Monart Spa – Poundbury to the public this week.
During the ceremony opening, the spa was described by Ben Murphy, Estate Director of The Duchy of Cornwall, as ‘the jewel in the crown’ of Queen Mother Square, the central hub and heart of the Poundbury community.
Set in Royal Pavilion, the world class luxury spa is the first UK adventure for Monart Destination Spa, Ireland, one of the top spas in the world and privately owned by brothers Michael and Liam Anthony Griffin.
Monart Spa – Poundbury has been designed with same ethos as Monart Spa Ireland creating an environment where you can truly rest, relax and rejuvenate. This unique journey begins when you are provided with your luxurious robe, slippers and dedicated relaxation space. You can enjoy access to one of the finest thermal suites in the UK which includes a hydrotherapy pool and state-of-the-art thermal spaces, including sanarium, caldarium, sauna, salt grotto, infrared pro cabin, aroma steam room and unique experience showers.
Architect Stephen Carr has created sumptuous surroundings complete with premium furnishings and beautiful décor giving the spa a truly bespoke feel. Construction and interior works was carried out by South West premium builders C.G Fry & Son.
This luxurious Dorset day spa is open to all with no membership required, offering curated half/full day and evening spa experiences, including treatments and access to the superb facilities.

“Poundbury is a new concept, a luxury day spa where we see Dorset residents as our guests. We have focused on creating an environment of pure relaxation where wellbeing is the centre of everything we do.

Monart Spa – Poundbury hosts a range of bespoke treatments available from expert therapists.
Light spa food and drinks, using produce from local Dorset producers including an award-winning Poundbury business Brace of Butchers and sparkling wines provided by Dorchester’s Langham wine estate.
